Some More Digital Print Playtime

This little frame was made from paper and a napkin that attracted me -

from a meeting I attended last week. It was perfect for this!

My enthusiasm continues unabated for adventures with Golden Digital Grounds. I have made about dozen new prints on silk organza and chiffon; here are just a few from the weekends play. Not all are ready yet as cards or anything - but they will be soon!

This is a print on silk chiffon -

you can see how thin it is - and easy to write on as well .

The image below is printed on bleached Harem Cloth printed

on a thin acrylic base of Golden clear tar gel.

I altered my all time favorite poster (probably because I was there at too young an age, admittedly, and wish I still had the ticket stub!) This was printed on Cotton Voile from Dharmatrading - where I got all of my fabrics

Updated Kakishibui Silk Scarf

Remember when I posted about the cool mini work shop in Kakishibui dyeing with fermented persimmon juice that was held, thanks to the Textile Guild, at the fair in August? Well I decided to play around with the scarf a bit more. I washed it with a baking soda solution again, left it outside to dry, and then printed some leaf & fern shapes onto it with transparent Stewart Gill paints. I like it a lot better now ! I may try to lightly over-dye the whole thing and see what happens -- that would be my next project. Experiment. Experiment ! What do you think?

Playing With Prints

I have been playing about with mono prints recently. I should have been working on my Grab Bag Challenge piece that's due end of next week. What can I say? I needed some diversion and this was the perfect one ! I had cut this particular block some time ago - and had fun making some new prints in different colorways. This is one colorway that I liked a lot! For everyone in the US - have a terrific (and safe) Memorial Day weekend - and wishing EVERYONE a weekend full of love, laughter and creativity!
