Life before titanium plates

Prior to titanium screws and plates

This is a post that I have been considering writing since my last operation on my neck in June.  My conundrum is that, I suspect, many people will find it boring - and that's just fine -skip over it . The other reason that I have been wanting to write is is that I have met so many people who seem to also be having back issues/problems of one sort of another. It's so difficult to know when to see a doctor, what kind of doctor does one see and, if you are not a Christian  Scientist, what sorts of remedies are options  for you? I kept thinking that of knowing just one more piece of your large puzzle will help you than this is worth writing. I don't speak poorly of any doctor.  They all work hard to give such a complex structure like our bodies good servicing and help.

For a about a year I wrote a blog that just chronicled what I was experiencing with PH...just so I could keep it all straight in my head...when faced with chronic issues of any kind, life seems to jumbled up...add the mix of working with doctors and that jumbled mess of thoughts, feelings, and experiences forms a mountainous landscape.

In time I want this to all be just a stepping stone in your personal growth...hangeth in!

Welcome back! I agree with you. Knowledge is power and the more you understand about your own body and its quirks, you are better able to care for it. Take care and I hope you are healing nicely.

A new view of my friend! Makes me want to know more...what am I looking at that is normal, what is the part that causes (and hopefully now in the past tense, caused) the pain...

Hope you are doing better, Sarah

Dear Marie, I have been in the chronic pain category for a few years. Here are a couple of links, one for "spoon theory", which is a terrific way to explain to those not in the know about how we feel; the other for a ketamine nasal spray that a friend of mine who has severe cervical dystonia uses.

Good luck, Dolly
