"Finding Your Way" : My Donation For The 2008 SAQA One Foot Square Auction

"Finding Your Way": Acrylics & Ink on Cloth, Machine Quilted, Hand Beaded

I am so pleased to say that, for once so far this year, I have finished something ahead of schedule! I sent this piece, entitled "Finding You Way", off yesterday for the SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) Second Annual On-Line Auction of One Foot Squares. This is a major fund raising event for SAQA and I would encourage you all to consider having a look at these cool works of art. You will find things made by some of your favorite quilt artists. The Auction will begin on November 10. Better yet - make a square to donate! SAQA is the most amazing organization - and they do so much more than you may realize. They are the folks who are really in the fore front of raising the public's awareness of quilts - all quilts - as a fine art medium in itself.

I had a great time making this little piece and am planning to make a larger version of it now. I was hard for me to send it off into the world!

Detail: "Finding Your Way"
Back: I hand dyed the background fabric with Black Walnuts.

I love this little quilt, Marie. I like the extra fibers added for texture. The back looks great too.

Absolutely beautiful --- I can imagine myself just walking through those woods and having a wonderful time of solitude.

Great job, Marie!

Black walnuts? How clever of you. This is a fantastic little piece and will look just as wonderful in it's future enlarged version, I'm sure. Hope SAQA raises lots of $$. Can't wait to see all of the auction entries online.
Thanks for the daily show.
