Finally! Caught Up With Karyn Gartel's Mixed Media Landscape Class

Do you think that better late than never is a good thing? Well, it certainly seems to be my mode of operation lately?! I do like to finish things I start - so yesterday I finally got my mixed media landscape finished. It was a great class from Karyn Gartel - and I am hoping to be able to take another class from her soon. I added some elements that were not from the class: a cat; goddesses in the windows; angels in the sky etc. One of the papers I used in the preliminary background was rather crunched- so there is some added "texture" that I would avoid next time around. The words in the sky read "angels guide from far away" & the "angels" are somewhat hidden in the clouds. I had a lot of fun with this piece. I still can't believe that I am enjoying mixed media so much. I am scrounging for small bits and pieces all donations happily accepted ! Just what I need more stuff ! I have "toys" of one variety or another in virtually every room of the house now! Who would 'a 'thunk'?!!

It turned out great Marie. You really added a lot of personally touches and created a unique piece of art. My favorite part is the kitty!

This looks like so much fun to create, and it's fun to admire. Two good things, eh? You can create it, and then capture it using that new birthday lens?

Hi! Thanks to the blogosphere, I found you.

Your paintings from Karyn's class are wonderful. I've completed my night landscape, and currently working on a day landscape. I like your original touches to your paintings. Great job! Good for you!

I'll be watching for more inspiration.

Besides being in awe of, inspired by and charmed by this piece, you've gifted me with my next direction in life!!! I want to stop teaching classes and start taking them!

Personally, I like the previously folded paper you used for the background, because it reminds me of the folds and creases in life. Adding the cat (YES!), angels (YES!) and goddesses (YES and lovely the way you did it!) makes this piece truely wonderful. I hope to see it at the SJC fair in August! (hint)
