Trees Through The Forest : The Start of A New Quilt

Rather than make a bag yesterday, as I had originally planned to do, I decided to start the painting for a new whole cloth quilt. This will actually be the sort of prototype for a large piece that I have been thinking of doing for some time. I used Stewart Gill paints, and since this early photo was taken, have started to add some texture for the 'ground'. I hope I can get the logistics worked out - because I really want to do a large version of this if I can figure it all out and make it look like what's floating around in my head !

I love trees too but I'm no artist with paints. It will be interesting to see what you have planned.

Hi Karoda:
This is only 12"X12". I wanted to make it for the SAQA auction this coming year -and that's the size they want. The large version will be 50" square - or perhaps a bit more of a rectangle. I am glad I am doing a small version because there ARE some technical things to figure out with paints - and I am unskilled! Would you consider sending me your email address? I can't reply directly to you without it - or so it seems. Happy Holidays and Merry New Year !
