..... And Another Thing ABout Blogs .....

I spent several trying hours playing with a Wordpress blog today trying to ascertain if there was any reason to jump ship. I found one template ( and there were several available) that allowed me to have a custom header - I liked it -more or less - but was, in general, completely underwhelmed. After changing the header however, there was nothing that I could do to change any of the colors. It looked alright, but only alright. Wishy washy. I also found that it was much more difficult to add sidebar elements, widgets, to Wordpress.

I have also considered using TypePad - and paying for it to boot. I have not signed up for their free 14 day trial simply because I don't want to spend any more time right now designing an alternate blog and you can't import your Blogger blog to TypePad very easily. I have been more or less out of commission for several weeks now because of puny health issues & now that I am finally chomping at them bit to get some things done creatively - I want to get going!

While I have to admit to being somewhat, well alright, quite a bit, miffed at the latest round of technical difficulties with Blogger, I also have to acknowledge that Blogger allows for a decidedly greater amount of customization capabilities. I am not at a point where it is an easy matter to learn CSS - nor am I certain that if a class was available it would be on my list of the top ten things I want to learn. I hope that this was just a burble in the relatively calm waters of Blogger land. All in all, up until this happened, I have to say that there have been few, if any, glitches that spring to mind. I am, therefore, going to remain, contentedly I hope, where I am - with Blogger. I love the way I am really able to make my blog look the way I want it to on Blogger - without learning any new, complex "language". I sure hope this won't happen again though ! Also, I really DO wish that they had been quicker to acknowledge that there was a real problem. My little blog called spam ??!! Indeed I think not !

What have all of you decided to do? Stay or go?

I have decided to stay as I am too lazy to work out another set up, I did open another blog just incase I couldn't get back in my original

This happened to my book blog (and to dozens of others), but the problem was quickly corrected. Evidently Microsoft said that 75% of Blogger was spam and an over-reaction occurred. Huh?

I'm sticking with blogger...there's comfort in familiarity. I figure all the options will have bugs now and then... I'm not too savvy when it comes to really playing around with templates and the like, but I have been satisfied with how easy things have been to learn with blogger.
