This is a large piece. It's 18" X 36" (45.72 cm X 91.44 cm). Originally I had considered making a couple of purses from it but now that I look at it I am not sure. I was thinking about the devastation caused by the fires in California and it look like that's what came through in the design! Maybe this piece of fabric want to be a wall piece! I still have some work to do on it before I start the quilting, but I like how it is turning out thus far.

I think you should follow your instinct about the wall piece. It does look like fire.
I agree that it would make a great wall piece.
Perhaps you could make another one and use it for purses? I am not sure how this piece would look as a purse with the slits in it, but it does remind me of fire and ashes.
